She’s surprised to see him outside of her home after her first day of school, and he reveals that he’ll be attending school in Tomoeda again, as well. Following the events of the last movie, she is also in a long distance relationship with Syaoran. The story then immediately moves into Clear Card with Sakura starting junior high school alongside all of her old friends. Eriol then returns to England alongside his trusted companions Kaho, Spinel, and Ruby Moon, and Syaoran returns to Hong Kong. She successfully transforms all of the cards, and it’s revealed that Eriol is the reincarnation of Clow Reed, the original creator of the Clow Cards. The magic within the Clow Cards is dwindling, and Sakura is forced to enchant them with her own magic, thus turning them into Sakura Cards. Over time they become friends, and ultimately Sakura becomes the Cardcaptor after collecting all of the Clow Cards.įollowing this is the Sakura Cards arc when another transfer comes to Tomoeda named Eriol Hiiragizawa. Shortly thereafter, a transfer student named Syaoran Li comes to Tomoeda from Hong Kong, and it turns out that he, too, is aiming to collect the Clow Cards and become Cardcaptor. They disappear from the book after Sakura mistakenly reads one, thus setting her on a journey of collecting them as the Cardcaptor alongside the Guardian of the Clow Cards, Kerberos, and her best friend Tomoyo Daidouji.

The triumphant original series followed Sakura Kinomoto, a kind and honest elementary school student at Tomoeda Elementary who gets pulled into the world of the Clow Cards after finding a mysterious book in her basement which houses these cards, each enchanted with a particular kind of magic. Following this, an anime adaptation began airing on Jan. 13, 2017 titled Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc Prologue: Sakura and the Two Bears.

In a special novel released in Japan about the origins of the two Mokonas, it was mentioned that Clow Reed and herself met the original Mokona of Cephiro (Magic Knight Rayearth) thus making it the model for building the two smaller Mokonas. Since part of CLAMP's stated intention of xxxHolic was to unite their body of work into a single universe/multiverse, it seems quite likely that Yūko has a more than passing awareness of the events of Cardcaptor Sakura, Tokyo Babylon, and X/1999, and that while she may not have visited Cephiro herself, she is almost certainly aware of its existence.
It is also stated that Tsubasa does not give Yūko his true name, (a counterpoint to Watanuki who gives both name and birthday), instead he uses his father's name, Syaoran Li Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura gave her Star Wand to Sakura Li as the price to Yūko for Tsubasa to go to Clow Country. Tsubasa Li is the son of Syaoran Li and Sakura Li. There are other crossovers between the different worlds, such as this:
Clow Reed is a major character in both Cardcaptor Sakura and Tsubasa, and other characters such as Yukito show up in more than one of them. Cardcaptor Sakura and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle are actually part of the same "multiverse", as well as xxxHolic.
